A SHORT HISTORY

Learn about Oak Barn’s transformation from a rustic 1800s barn to a luxurious retreat which honours its rich heritage through thoughtful design and locally sourced craftsmanship.

2020

Rosie and Guy purchased the property with a vision to breathe new life into the old barn while respecting its historical charm.
2021

The design process began, with a focus on creating a space that blends modern comfort with traditional rustic aesthetics. Rosie and Guy planned to incorporate eco-friendly materials, local craftsmanship, and thoughtful design elements throughout the conversion.
2022

Renovation began, preserving the barn’s original beams and structure where possible. Significant updates included the installation of natural limestone flooring with underfloor heating, adding warmth and comfort to the space.
2022 (Mid-Year)

Locally sourced materials were incorporated, including the bespoke handmade kitchen with quartz worktops and a large range cooker. The open-plan design created a spacious, inviting area for gathering and relaxation.
2023

The renovation was completed, transforming Oak Barn into a luxurious countryside retreat. The barn was officially opened to guests, offering a blend of history, comfort, and modern amenities.
2023 - Present

Rosie and Guy continue to manage Oak Barn, welcoming guests and ensuring the barn maintains its high standards of comfort and charm for all who visit.
